Refers to the practice of mercifully ,but intentionally ending a life (of patient) in order to relieve pain and suffering- rather than let them die a natural death. It’s a very much debatable medical practice throughout the world, to assist a patient to death (on his /her consent) if they have gone into permanently irrevocable or a vegetative state.
PLEASE DON’T READ: If your light hearted, cos it includes dark and morbid theme
I’m a mother of my only child, who is thirty three year old
Who can’t move an inch if not patrolled
His birth was a very special occasion, to behold
For his single smile, I would have given up all my diamonds and gold
I still remember that hospital bed
His cheeks were then pink and red
Nothing can beat, the feeling of becoming a mother then
When I named my child ‘John Glenn’
When the first time I heard,
My little humming bird
That healthy sound of my baby’s cry
My heart came out of my chest, to dance for my apple pie
When the first time, I looked at my newborn possibility
I never knew he was born with a rare genetic disability
Doctors tried every probability
To save him was my only responsibility
For the last thirty three year
Only site I remember, is his face and wet tear
I have seen his health , deteriorate each day as he grow
Like a dying and injured crow
All the doctors have given up ten years ago already, on his disease
Take my life and give him please, please, please
When he looks at me with those eyes
As if saying ‘Ma, set me free now and give me final goodbye’s ‘
Have mercy on me and please assist me to now die
‘Don’t let me die a natural death, while you watch and wait
Please relieve me of this suffering and this painful state
I now have to see that cemetery gate
Don’t let me live for predicted fate’
I sometimes wonder, the glory of life is a natural death
But I can’t watch him, live like this on every breath
But, how can I even assist him with this suicide?
While I see and let him go, by sitting on his side
If the natural course means, the turning wheel will slowly come to a stop
Why do we feel then ‘It’s better to burn, than to fade away ‘ non-stop ?
